The classic Trans-Himalayan trade route is a long and demanding ride on a road which is certainly amongst the contenders on the world’s wildest highway”. Flying to Pokhara and then to Jomsom which is an extension of Tibetan plateau which gives you time toget acclimatized. There is much to see in and around Jomsom and Kagbeni and at Gorkha, including the stunning Himalayan panorama, a couple of short easy bike rides around Jomsom will help the group’s acclimatization, and will allow to visit some of the many interesting monasteries and religious sites. Throughout this trip, the group will have support team with vehicle on camping portion in order to keep up with the ambitious schedule as per the itinerary. An adventurous biking tour which covers most of the best parts of the Himalayan old salt trade on the Trans-Himalaya Caravan route, a fabulous journey which offers awesomely beautiful rock formation, cascades and canyons slightly hidden under the thin mists, with numerous mid hills ride with stunningviews of the picturesque landscape, rural villages, enriched by the ancient most lavishly decorated monasteries and temples with chanting saffron coloured monks, ever smiling faces of people and their typical lifestyle all contributes to this trip a memory of your lifetime. Outline Itinerary:

Day 01:

Arrive Kathmandu. Meet & transfer to Hotel. O/N Hotel.

Day 02:

Free day in Kathmandu for sightseeing tour. (Bikes will be sent overland to Beni). O/N Hotel. (B)

Day 03:

Fly Kathmandu / Pokhara. Afternoon sightseeing tour or free. O/N Hotel. (Bikes will travel overland on Jeeps to Jomsom). (B)

Day 04:

Fly Pokhara / Jomsom. Assemble Bikes and short biking towards Thini. O/N Lodge. (B/L/D)

Day 05:

Bike to Kagbeni and return on technical track to Ekle Bhatti for Lunch and continue to Marpha (30 Kms). O/N Lodge. (B/L/D)

Day 06:

Bike to Tatopani (32 Kms). O/N Lodge. (B/L/D)

Day 07:

Bike to Baglung (23 Kms). O/N Lodge. (B/L/D)

Day 08:

Bike all the way to Pokhara via Sarangkot (72 Kms). O/N Hotel. (B/L)

Day 01:

Arrive at Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel.


On arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuwan International Airport you will be received by our staff and transfer you to respective Hotels, where our guide will give you a brief orientation of the Hotel, Kathmandu, biking, do’s and don’t and other related information that you might require while in Nepal.


Day 02:

In Kathmandu with half day sight seeing tour.


After your first night in Kathmandu, you will be well informed on arrival about the time for your half day guided sightseeing tour in Kathmandu at places of interest. On this day all the bikes will be transferred in a vehicle to Jomsom.


Day 03: 

Fly to Pokhara and transfer to Hotel.


As per the flight time, transfer to the domestic airport in Kathmandu for the scenic short flight of half hour to Pokhara. Afternoon time to marvel the beautiful Phewa Lake and the snow capped mountains from Mt. Dhaulagiri-Annapurna and Manaslu range.


Day 04: 

Fly to Jomsom 2,715m.


Early morning short scenic flight to Jomsom which takes approx 22-25 minutes, on arrival our biking crew and guide will receive and transfer you to respective Lodge for refreshment and lunch, afternoon can be very windy as Jomsom is located in Mustang district which is located at lower Mustang region and the headquarter of whole Mustang area. Time permitting a short ride to the neighboring village of Thini.


Day 05:

Bike to Kagbeni 2,810 m and continue to Marpha 2,670m. Approx: 30 Kms


From Jomsom, the trail leads on the Kali Gandaki plains in the rainy season the road diverts to the right bank of the river plain, the ride is pleasant with few ups and down most of the way to the place of Ekali Bhatti (lonely inn) where there is three or four tea-houses at present, it used to be one tea-house when its got its name Ekali -Bhatti. From here the path splits into two ways the higher up leads to Muktinath well the other one leads you to upper Mustang and Tibet via Kagbeni. Our route leads past Eklai-bhatti towards North West, the walking gets much easier on the gradual winding road as it widens as you bike further on the river bed towards the windswept village of Kagbeni and continue ride back to Jomsom and to Marpha, another two hours of easy ride from Jomsom brings you at Marpha for the overnight stop, which is a little gem, with whitewashed houses, paved streets and numerous well kept lodges. Here you will have time to celebrate with the local apple products like cider, brandy and juice this area from Kagbeni to Larjung is famous for its delicious apple and its product.


Day 06:

Trek to Tatopani 1,190m 4-5 hrs approx: 32 k.m.


A good gradual walk on the downhill slope all the way to the Kaligandaki River Valley from here the path is almost level all the way to Tukuche the ride is enjoyable following the Kaligandaki river down stream soon reaching at Tukuche village, beneath the towering Tukuche peak and Dhaulagiri, with spectacular views of Mt.Nilgiri’s and the massif icefalls which tumbles from the Dhaualgiri’s east face, after Tukuche coming to Larjung village, then crossing the broad river bed, either by way of a series of temporary plank bridges over numerous channel if the river level is low, or via a high suspension bridge, after an hour biking getting back to the tree line of pines, oaks and rhododendron, the path meanders away from the river for a while for an hour then coming back to the river bed just before Kalalpani village, just near Kalapani the trail leads to a suspension bridge over the gorge of raging Kali Gandki River with awesome view of Dhulagiri peak and its icefall, from the bridge a short walk brings to Kalapani village. Kalapani, another lovely village of more than 20 houses with excellent lodges with grandeur view of Mt. Annapurna I, Nilgiri’s and Dhaulagiri above the beautiful forest surrounding. 
From Kalapani onwards leads to a dramatic change in the vegetation, from dry, arid desert to pine and conifer forests, passing between the two giant peaks of Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna. The first two hours of trek passes through the village of Ghasa with constant view of the snow capped peaks through the cool forest surrounding, there are many settlements and isolated lodges and tea houses, with open areas with enchanting forest and impressive views. Below Ghasa, which is the southern end of the area dominated by Thakali people with fewer of this ethnic tribe till Tatopani, the architectural style change, with much ornately carved wood work in evidence. This pleasant ride amidst the beautiful surrounding continues back to the terraced paddy fields and into warm sub-tropical climate all the way to the village of Tatopani passing through the beautiful waterfalls of Rupsi. Tatopani (Hot Spring) village the valley is quite constricted and it is quite warm with sub-tropic climate and vegetation, Tatopani is another nice village with large hot spring pools just by the bank of the River Kali Gandaki.


Day 07:  

Bike to Baglung approx: 23 k.m. 3-4 hrs ride.


After a wonderful time at Tatopani, biking continues on the gradual trail for an hour crossing a suspension bridge over the Kali Gandaki river, the path leads by the river for a while just arriving at the junction of the two trails. Route diverts from here leading to the jeep dirt road from here ahead lies several villages and towns of Beni and to Baglung reached for the overnight halt.


Day 08:

Bike to Pokhara via Sarankot approx: 72 Kms. 5-6 hrs.


Today a long interesting ride on the main road that joins to Beni and Pokhara which was constructed 20 years back, the biking leads to the Kusma town and to Nayapul from here the road climbs for 40 minutes to an hour at Kande village from here descending towards Naudanda with striking views of the Annapurna Himalaya including the majestic towering peaks Mt. Machhapuchare (The Fish Tail) from Naudanda leaving the main road taking the dirt wide road to scenic Sarankot at 1,460m situated on the North West of Pokhara Valley offering grand views of the Pokhara Valley including the Lake Phewa, to the north panoramic scenery of the high Himalayan range of Annapurna-Dhaulagiri-Mananslu including the majestic peak Machhapuchare (Fish Tail). Sarankot is truly an amazing spot with views of stunning sunrise and sunset as well. It has number of fine lodges for overnight stay, an ideal place for Para Gliding which is getting popular.
From here descend to Pokhara and to the Phewa lake side for the overnight stop in one of the best Hotels around this beautiful lake side.


Day 09: 

Bike to Begnas Tal approx: 30 Kms. 2-3 hrs.


From Pokhara the ride leads on the main highway that leads to Kathmandu after few hours of ride reaching to the spot where our route diverts towards Begnas Lake for the overnight stop, from here onwards we will be camping till the last day of biking, Begnas is another great spot for the views of Annapurna and Manaslu range and the tranquil Begnas lake.


Day 10: 

Bike to Kalasti approx: 48 k.m. 3-4 hrs.


After a wonderful time at Begnas the ride takes towards rural farm areas with views of Rupa Lake, the biking is on the gradual winding dirt road passing interesting towns and farm villages where the locals seldom sees westerners as this is the off beaten trail for normal trekking and biking routes after a pleasant ride of 3 to 4 hours reaching to the overnight camp site at a small village of Kalasti.


Day 11:

Bike to Palungtar approx: 30 k.m.


From here the ride leads towards east biking towards small ups and down hills through the patch of forest of Sal trees, here the temperature is warmer of sub-tropical zone, the fine ride finally reaches at Palungtar for the overnight Camping at small farm village of Palungtar.


Day 12:

Bike to Gorkha 50 km. 4-5 hrs.


Today’s ride leads to the famed Gorkha and its palace where mid hills tribe known as the Gorkha originates from, the ride passes through several farm villages and towns and riding short ups and down hills with gradual winding path till the town of Gorkha is reached, here overnight in one of the best Hotel available, where meals are served from our camping unit.
Gorkha, a hill bazaar and the ancestral home of the Shah dynasty which ruled Nepal to this day, it is from here that King Prithvi Narayan Shah started his conquest of the country’s various tiny kingdoms and unified them into a single nation, Nepal. Perched one thousand feet above Gorkha Bazaar, the palace dominates the surroundings and is visible from all around the area. The palace also boasts beautiful architecture.Al though only Hindus are allowed to enter the palace premises, it is worthwhile walking up the stairs for the view.


Day 13: 

Bike to Chambas approx: 60 Kms.


After a wonderful time at Gorkha the ride continues down to Arughat through the village Khanchowk, where the trekking to Manaslu begins, from this town our route diverts further east after crossing the Buri-Gandaki by a bridge, the biking then leads to small farm areas before reaching the camp site at Chambas for the overnight stop.


Day 14:

Bike to Kakani approx: 75 k.m.


Today’s ride will be the longest on the winding gradual path through the forest of Sal trees and numerous farm villages, the ride finally leads to a long uphill haul a strenuous ride on the steep winding uphill in some section, then reaching at Kakani situated on the rim of Kathmandu valley.


Day 15: 

Bike to Kathmandu.


The ride leaves Kakani on the downhill main road to Kathmandu passing several towns and villages reaching at Nagarjung forest area, then to Balaju at the suburb of Kathmandu then entering to the busy traffic area before heading back to the Hotel on this last day biking ride.


Day 16: 

International Departure.


Today as per the International flight time, our staff will transfer you to the airport for your final departure from this amazing country, Nepal.

 4.  Travel, Medical and Personal insurance.

 5. Expenses of personal nature, i.e. tipping, laundry, bottled drinks, bar bills etc.

 6.  Any expense for early returning member due sickness, injury or any other reason. No refund will be entertained for any unused service.

 7.  Extra expense occurred due to unexpected circumstances like cancellation of internal flights, floods, strike etc.

 8.  Personal clothing and biking gear.

 9.  Hiring charge of Mountain Bike (if hire from us cost US$ 25 per day – Kathmandu to Kathmandu).



If you are not tied up with time limitations, or have more time before or after your main trip with us, you can join / take following extension trips to make your holiday even interesting. According to extra time you have, you can choose a visit to National Parks for jungle safari viewing rare animals, migrant birds and exotic reptiles or enjoy the whitewater rafting or take a cultural tour of Kathmandu, Pokhara, Nagarkot or even make a quick visit to neighboring countries of Tibet – Roof of the world, India – The country of wonders, Bhutan – The Dragon Kingdom.

We can add these extensions before or after your holiday according to the flights that you have booked / can book. Beside these, if you even want just stay in Kathmandu for relax or any independent activities, we can book extra nights at the Hotel. You can book these extensions together with your main trip booking.


Chitwan National Park

It is one of the oldest and popular National Parks in Nepal recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Site. More than 500 Asian one-horned rhinoceros and some 100 nocturnal Royal Bengal Tigers have made their home in this dense forest. There are an estimated 50 species of mammals, over 526 species of birds, 49 amphibians and reptiles and 150 species of butterflies.

The park is spread over an area of 932 sq kms and located in the lowlands of Nepal. The forest cover is predominantly Sal, interspersed with tall grasslands, small hills, ox-bow lakes and flood plains.

Bardia National Park

The park provides excellent habitat for endangered animals like the rhinoceros, wild elephant, tiger, fresh water Dolphin and many other species of mammals along with over 200 species of birds.

River Rafting

It is located within a reach of 4 hours outside Kathmandu and just 19 kms away from the Tibet Border.

The Bungy bridge happens to be the only privately owned bridge in Nepal. It has been specially designed for Bungy Jumping with a 4X safety factors and has a loading factor of 41,500kg or 4.5 tons according to Swiss measurement.



Paragliding is relatively new adventure sports in Nepal. Paragliding in this Himalayan country can be a truly wonderful and fulfilling experience for the adventure seekers.
