Nepal is an interesting destination to observe birds in its natural habitat, from the mid hills valleys all the way to the flat lands of Terai. This trip allows you to see the mid hill birds: over 450 species of exotic birds at Chitwan and a visit to the sanctuary at Koshi Tappu to view 20 species of Ducks, two species of Ibises, many Stroks, Egrets, Herons and the endangered Swamp Partridge and Bengal Florican. Koshi Tappu is a sanctuary for migratory birds. These birds fly all the way from Siberia in winter and many birds that arrive here are nowhere else seen in Nepal, makes this reserve birdwatchers’ paradise in its true sense. It is also an important staging point for migrating wildfowl and waders.

Day 01:

Arrive at Kathmandu. Meet & transfer to Hotel. O/N Hotel.

Early morning drive to Rani Ban for bird watching and return to Hotel. O/N Hotel.

Day 03:

Morning drive to Phulchowki for bird observation and botanical garden. O/N Hotel.

Day 04:

Fly to Biratnagar and drive to Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve. O/N Jungle Lodge.

Bird Watching at Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve. O/N Jungle Lodge.

Day 15:

Drive to Biratnagar and fly back to Kathmandu. O/N Hotel.

Day 16:

Transfer to airport for international departure



Day 01:

Arrive at Kathmandu 1,300m via respective airlines. 


On arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuwan International Airport you will be received by our staff and will escort you to the Hotel, where our guide will give you a brief orientation of the Hotel, Kathmandu, do’s and don’t and other related information.


Day 02: 

Early morning drive to Rani Ban for bird watching and return to Hotel


We take an early morning drive to the north of Kathmandu at Shivapuri watershed and wildlife reserve. This is also one of the best locations for bird watchers. Rani Ban also known as Nagarjun Forest or Jamachowk, situated 5km north west of Kathmandu is gifted with blue magpies, Kalij Pheasants, Bonillo’s eagles, Great Himalayan Barbets and other exotic birds. After a wonderful time here we return to the Hotel.


Day 03:

Morning drive to Phulchowki for bird observation and botanical garden.


We take an early morning drive at the most popular bird watching spot at the Phulchowki hill, the highest peak on the Valley rim situated 20 km southeast of Kathmandu, with some 265 species recorded to date. The birds which can be seen here include babblers, warblers, tits, thrushes, minuets, woodpeckers, eagles and many migrant birds. Godavari, at the foot of Phulchoki hill where the Royal Botanical Garden is situated, records over 100 species of birds including the lesser Racket-tailed drongo, Tibetan siskin and the spotted fork tail. After a peaceful time over here we now drive back to our hotel.


Day 04: 

Drive to Budhanilkantha and hike to Shivapuri hill.


Today’s trip takes to Budhanilkantha after half an hours drive and start the hike for an hour to the Shivapuri hill top. The Shivapuri Watershed is a protected area Situated 11 Km to the North of Kathmandu, is the second highest place in the valley. Comparing with Phulchowki, this is not well explored but the bird lives of here are similar to Phulchowki. The higher slopes are comparatively with mature forests is a very good location for viewing the birds. The many birds that can be seen here are White-capped and Plumbeous Water Redstart near the stream, Spotted Forktail, Orange-flanked Bush-robin and Yellow-billed Blue Magpie. In the forest patch on the right hand side upon entering the reserve is a good chance for seeing male Blue-fronted Redstart and a Scaly Thrush. following the road inside the area we can hear and see some barbets, and can see Chestnut-crowned, Whistler’s, Grey-cheeked and Grey-hooded Warblers, White-throated Laughingthrush, Streak-breasted Scimitar-babbler, Grey Treepie, Black-throated, Green-backed and Black-lored Tit, Flycatcher, Orange-bellied Leafbird, White-bellied Yuhina, Grey-chinned and unidentified other Minivets, Grey-throated Babbler, Booted Eagle and Mountain Hawk-Eagle.


Day 05: 

Drive to Pokhara afternoon sightseeing tour of Pokhara valley


In the early hours of the morning our staff will pick you up for the 200km 5 to 6 hours drive to the beautiful city of Pokhara. Upon reaching there you’ll be dazzled by the breathtaking mountain views of the Annapurna Range Mountains and the ever beautiful Mt. Fishtail as the center piece. After reaching the hotel another of our staff will pick you up to do the sightseeing tour of Pokhara.


Day 06: 

Morning drive to Sarankot and walk back to Pokhara.


After breakfast a drive to Sarankot hill. At 1600m Sarankot sits atop a ridge with fine Himalayan views. Most people come here for dawn views of the mountain which are indescribably beautiful. The path is a long and slow ascent up steps passing through a variety of small communities along the way – a mini trekkingexperience in many ways. The early morning drive is well worthwhile as the horizon encompasses the 8167m Dhaulagiri all the way to Machhapuchhare (6997m) and Annapurna II (7937m). After the beautiful views of the Himalayan Range we now start walking down the hill to the Hotel.


Day 07:

Boating to the other side of the lake to Raniban for birdwatching.


After breakfast you will take a boat ride to the other side of the Lake and enter Raniban, which is a very good habitat of different species of birds. You will enjoy full day walk across the forest view birds of different kinds and some rare birds found in Nepal Himalaya. As you start climbing up, you can enjoy the magnificent Mountains overlooking Lake Phewa.


Day 08: 

Drive to Chitwan. 


Today a scenic drive of five hours on the flatland of southern Nepal to Chitwan National Park, a few hours drive will bring you at the outskirt of the “Chitwan National Park” where the Jungle Camp staffs will receive you and transport you in other four wheel drive for half an hour drive into the dense Jungle of Chitwan for your last adventure of this trip. On arrival welcome by the senior naturalist or the manger for the briefing on do’s and don’t, lodge rules and activities. A fixed set lunch of continental or semi-continental lunch is served at 1 pm in the main dining hut. (if you are vegetarian or need Indian meals can be arranged prior to your pre-booking or on arrival) after lunch, at leisure for a few hours. Afternoon activities as per the Lodge set program for different groups. Afternoon Jungle activities are elephant briefing & bathing (depending upon the depth and size of the river at different seasons) Nature or Introductory walk. Elephant Safari, jungle walk includes visit to the tower (Machan) visit and Jungle drives.
After the afternoon jungle activities of 2-3 hours an evening program slide show on Chitwan National Park and its history, flora and wildlife. Cultural Tharu Stick Dance.  Dinner is served at 8 pm. The dinner will be served Nepali dishes or Chinese-Indian dishes.


Day 09-10: 

Full day Jungle Activities with bird watch tour.


Early morning a knock at the door for your early Jungle activities, the morning program will be according to group wise either Bird watch tour, Elephant Safari or a Jungle walk. Some 500 species have been recorded in Chitwan and some of them are Blue Indian Roller, Stork-billed Kingfishers, Bengal Florican, Asian Paradise Flycatcher, Bee-eaters, and Cormorants.


Day 11:

Drive back to Kathmandu 180 km 5 hrs journey.                            


Early morning wake up call with a knock at the door for different activities. Enjoy the breakfast with chirping birds nearby and get ready for departure to Kathmandu. The drive is scenic enjoying the landscapes all the way to Kathmandu in 5-6 hours time. You will have a day to relax before heading to eastern Nepal to view different species of birds.


Day 12: 

Fly Kathmandu / Biratnagar, drive to Koshi Barrage Lodge. 


As per the domestic flight time our staff will transfer you to the airport for the scenic flight towards the eastern town of Biratnagar close to the border of India, the diverse landscape of Nepalese terrain, the spectacular view of the high Himalaya, mountains, terraced hills, forest and cultivation of the plain keeps one occupied during the flight and drive. On arrival our staff will transfer you for an hour drive to Koshi Barrage and its bird sanctuary drive leads through several towns and villages and observe the Terai the low lands of Nepal on arrival meet the lodge staff and transfer to one of the cosy lodge with afternoon at leisure to observe the local and bird life, on arrival and brief introduction of the facility and program by resident naturalist, nature. walks in the marshland and field outside the reserve to see the storks, ibises, snipes, waterfowl, birds of prey etc. 6.30 p.m. Briefing on the natural history of the reserve followed by Nepali dinner.


Day 13-14:

At Koshi Wildlife Reserve. 


Full day excursion on boat and four wheels drive with pack lunch to see waders, waterfowl, birds of prey, marsh crocodile, otters, wild water buffalo and Gangetic Dolphins including a walk along the eastern Embankment.


Day 15: 

Drive to Biratnagar and Fly to Kathmandu.


Morning bird watching program and leave the lodge after breakfast for the drive 
to Biratnagar on reaching at the airport fly back to Kathmandu, on arrival meet our staff and transfer to respective Hotels.


Day 16: 

Transfer to airport for international departure


Today as per your international flight time, keep your confirmed air ticket, and your passport handy. Our staff will take you to the airport for your final departure from this amazing country, Nepal.

Chitwan National Park

It is one of the oldest and popular National Parks in Nepal recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Site. More than 500 Asian one-horned rhinoceros and some 100 nocturnal Royal Bengal Tigers have made their home in this dense forest. There are an estimated 50 species of mammals, over 526 species of birds, 49 amphibians and reptiles and 150 species of butterflies.

The park is spread over an area of 932 sq kms and located in the lowlands of Nepal. The forest cover is predominantly Sal, interspersed with tall grasslands, small hills, ox-bow lakes and flood plains.

Bardia National Park

The park provides excellent habitat for endangered animals like the rhinoceros, wild elephant, tiger, fresh water Dolphin and many other species of mammals along with over 200 species of birds.

It is a treasure trove of ancient art and architecture that lie hidden in the labyrinth of manmade structures. River Rafting

It is located within a reach of 4 hours outside Kathmandu and just 19 kms away from the Tibet Border.

The Bungy bridge happens to be the only privately owned bridge in Nepal. It has been specially designed for Bungy Jumping with a 4X safety factors and has a loading factor of 41,500kg or 4.5 tons according to Swiss measurement.



Paragliding is relatively new adventure sports in Nepal. Paragliding in this Himalayan country can be a truly wonderful and fulfilling experience for the adventure seekers.
