Over the
centuries, pilgrims from all corners of the world have
journeyed to achieve enlightenment and cleanse themselves in
the indisputable sacred power of Mount Kailas, "the
Precious Jewel of Snow". In the north of the Himalayan
barrier in Tibet, the navel of the Universe, Mount Kailas,
is the spiritual centre for four main religions, including
Tibetan Buddhism. The four major rivers systems of the
Indian Sub-Continent originate near Kailash delivering good
karma in the flows below. This trek follows the old
pilgrimage and trade route over the Himalayan range from
Western Nepal into the Tibetan plateau. This trip is more
like an expedition than a trek but requires no
mountaineering skills. The trek begins with a flight to
Simikot and heads west toward Yari before crossing the 4325m
Nara La Pass. Renew your inspiration at the Holy Mount
Kailas.
