This walk follows a
picturesque and rarely trekked route, which passes through a number
of interesting villages, offering magnificent views of Mt. Makalu,
Mt. Kanchenjunga and the Khumba-Karna mountain range, especially
from the 4,229m high Shipton-la and Khoma ridge. After following the
normal trail to Sherson, we move towards a slightly higher camp at
the foot of the Barun glacier, to make our final preparations for
the traverse of the three cols. Ropes will be fixed on the steepest
and most exposed sections of each of the passes, to safeguard the
smooth passage of the group. Breathe-taking views can be seen from
this high-level route of the giant central Himalayan peaks,
including impressive perspective views of Mt. Everest and Lhotse. As
a relaxing finale to this outstanding adventure, we descend towards
the popular Everest trail of the Khumbu area to Lukla.
