This adventurous trip, starting from Lhasa gives you time to get
acclimatised on the worlds highest city at 3,600 meter altitude,
with ample time to immerse around Lhasa, including the stunning
Potala Palace, the Jokhang Temple and the busy markets at Barkor.
From Lhasa we strike out for on our main objective, crossing six
major passes of above 4,500m and 5000m on the main Lhasa to
Kathmandu route. On this entire trip the road traverses a high and
dry plateau-land, punctuated by the unforgettable monastery towns of
Gyantse, Shigatse and Shegar and also by several smaller settlements
and nomadic encampments. Our ambitious journey continues towards the
base of Mt. Everest with a visit to the highest monastery at Rongbuk
before we conclude this biking adventure in Kathmandu |
