All climbing members as well as support staffs should be insured before commencing on an Expedition. One should buy a policy which will cover medical, accidental and rescue evacuation.

For Climbing Members, its advisable that they buy the Insurance Policy right from their home Country. Some of the popular Insurance Companies are: BMC, Snowcard, MedEx etc. Please check with your insurance company whether they are happy to cover the risk for such high altitude expedition peak that you are climbing.

For Nepali Sherpa staff, they should be insured as per Ministry of Tourism’s guideline. It is also advisable that beside accidental & medical facility, one should get insurance package which also includes heli evacuation for Sherpa staffs as well.
