Garbage Deposit

Expedition Team is responsible to destroy or bring back the wastage / garbage of their expedition. The team has to destroy or recycle the items to the concerned authorities as authorized by the Government in / near the mountain but the team will be responsible to bring back garbage which can not be destroyed or recycled back to Kathmandu and shall hand over to the institution or body as prescribed by the Government.
To make this happen, each expedition team must deposit an amount as per the list below as Garbage Deposit to Ministry of Tourism. If the team returns back the garbage of the expedition in satisfactory manner, the amount deposited earlier will be refunded.
For the Mountaineering Peaks in Khumbu & Annapurna Himalayan Range:
For the Mount Everest |
US$ 4,000 or equivalent in Nepali Rupees |
For other mountain having height of 8,001 m except Mount Everest |
US$ 3,000 or equivalent in Nepali |
For the mountains having the height of 7,001 m to 8,000 m and Ama Dablam Mountain |
US$ 2,000 or equivalent in Nepali |
For the mountain having the height of 6,501 m to 7,000 m |
US$ 1,000 or equivalent in Nepali |
For the mountain having the height of less than 6,500 m |
US$ 500 or equivalent in Nepali |
For the Mountaineering Peaks in other Mountain Regions:
For other mountain having height of 8,001 m |
US$ 3,000 or equivalent in Nepali |
For the mountains having the height of less than 8,000 m |
US$ 500 or equivalent in Nepali |
For Trekking Peaks: US$ 250 per permit
